Family of 4

Gregory Erskine Dalcolma was born on 9/26/13 at 14:14 - - 6 lbs 8 oz, 20 in. long and a complete bundle of joy. He came into the world starting as a scheduled inducement for Thursday the 26th. We got called to the hospital Wednesday night at 10 to come at 11:30. Once we got admitted and up to labor and delivery our orders were to sleep! Alright! Of course that is easier said than done when 9 months pregnant and attached to all sorts of tubes/wires and you have a baby that was being difficult to monitor without me in certain positions. After my water was broken at 6:30 they came and did my epidural - - it was AWESOME! MUCH stronger than what I had with Kylie - I barely felt any contractions all day which let sleep come easier! My blood pressure, however, did not think the epidural was so awesome and dropped slightly which made Gregory mad so they kept giving me meds to raise the blood pressure and make Greg happy but then couldn't give me the pitocin to speed along the process. On top of that my uterus was contracting on a part of the umbilical cord. To help with the umbilical cord problem they actually put fluid back in my uterus through some sort of 'amnio procedure' (this made momma-bear scared, but nurse Laura reassured me that he (and I!) were fine and if Dr. Sawyer had even the slightest thought that things weren't ok he would have taken us back for an emergency c-section). Luckily because my water had been broken my body did what it was supposed to and I was eventually dilated enough to start pushing just after 2 and at 2:14 pm Gregory was brought into the world!

He is very snuggly and so far only cries when he's hungry or cold - - too bad that he's hungry all the time! He's taken to nursing much better than Kylie ever did so we're snuggled up in bed most of the time doing that.

Kylie is the best big sister -- she went to see him in his crib and looked at me and said "I love baby brother" and as she bounced out of his room "Me so happy" - - sweetest thing ever!

Bar

Today Kylie took a bar stool behind the counter - asked if I wanted to come to her bar. She was serving shots of grapefruit bubbly water with homemade paper umbrellas #quarantine2020

After watching the news of the mobs breaking into the Capital Building Greg said “mom, don’t these people know there’s still covid? I mean we wouldn’t just go to Washington DC because President Biden got elected” I hate that the kids are growing up watching so much drama and sadness on the news but I know that we can teach them to be better and do better and know that the world will be a better place 💕

Europe 2022 - Days 6-8 (Metz, Heidelberg & Waldmohr)

Tuesday April 5, 2022 Tuesdays rainy weather changed our plans but ultimately it was France day! We ended up driving in the rain to Metz, France for the day. Lynn and the kids and her babysitter Kelsey all come with us for the day. We really lucked out and the rain was either just misty or stopped while we were exploring. Once we found parking we walked thru the cobblestone streets until we found the Metz Cathedral and a cute indoor market. We ordered croissants and eclairs from a Patisserie for a morning snack. They were DELICIOUS 🤤 I am basically ruined for eating croissants back home now! We went into the Cathedral which reminded us of The Great Hall from Harry Potter. The cathedral was so insanely beautiful. The Cathedral in Metz is one of the most stained glass churches in the world!! There were so many intricate pieces everywhere you looked.  We found an Italian restaurant for lunch thanks to Kelsey’s French skills! It was soooo good! I had one of the best salads  with ...
